Here are some of the best things to complement your visit to Israel: a taste of Israeli food, arts and cultural life, trips in Israel’s national parks and nature reserves, religious sites, therapeutic resorts, and archaeological treasures.
***
Religious interest
Israel, The Holy Land, is an important center for all three monotheistic religions, with many sites of interest around the country, especially in the Old City of Jerusalem and its sacred sites. Visit the sites where Jewish history was formed, walk in the footsteps of Jesus and his followers, or ascend the Dome of the Rock on Temple Mount.

Re: what to do
Sat, September 8, 2007 - 3:15 PMthe tunnel tour beneath the kotel is really worth it, but you pretty much have to arrange tickets in advance (they're only a few dollars but they're sold out sometimes weeks in advance)... www.aish.com/seminars/tunneltours/ -

thanks, Spas, very interesting! I've been to the Kotel a couple of times and it's very fascinating. It's definetely a very special place, to say the least. I've also been in the tunnel to the left side of the men's section, fascinating, really. I've not been on any tour of the extensive tunnels, etc., though, that should be really something. Take care. Bye now. -

Re: what to do
Sun, September 9, 2007 - 1:24 PMyou can re-post that of course, but if you had the complete tunnel tour that you enter to the side of the men's prayer area by the western wall, then you already know what i'm talking about, though they've opened up new areas over time, as excavations have been completed.
did you have the whole tour or did you just enter the prayer room to the side of the external prayer area by the wall? -

thanks, Spas, I really do appreciate it. Yes, I know, I've been following the news from time to time on the excavations, don't have the full picture though. Very interesting stuff. Who knows what they'll find!? The last time that I was in Israel, was in 2005, the rest I get from the news.
I did not take the tour. Every time that I've been to the Kottel, I just entered the "prayer room" (it's big, though, more like a tunnel/cave, etc) to the left-side of the men's external prayer area, as you more or less say. I go unescorted/unassisted and do my own thing and no one bothers me. All the best then. Greetings!
