Are there any vegetarian kibbutzim in Israel?
I'm vegan, and if there are any vegan kibbutzim in Israel, that would be even better! But, I figured it would be more likely to find a vegetarian kibbutz.

I read a little about Ramat Yochanan,Yagur, and Revivim today.I thought Ramat Yochanan sounded interesting because they grow lychees, mangoes, and avocados. -

Sun, April 6, 2008 - 5:35 AMthis page could be useful for you. www.ecotourism-israel.com/Accom...on.htm
but i'll just tell you off the bat that you're looking for Amirim - that's what suits you.
here's the amirim website directly: www.amirim.com/
basically almost every kibbutz is acceptable to most vegetarians, bc the dairy meals are cooked on crockery, etc that has never touched meat. but amirim is vegetarian and organic and i know plenty of cool young people in israel who've volunteered there. i'm not too sure they'd want a volunteer who didn't speak hebrew fluently, but then hebrew fluency is fairly necessary for doing almost anything cool in israel longer term. anyway, best of luck in the north...we're looking to have our spring rainbow gathering up there somewhere.
